- What is Appolo?
Appolo is a marketplace-as-a-service platform. You sign up, pick a plan, and in under 10 minutes you have a live marketplace at yourname.appolo.cloud - with its own storefront, a Studio admin dashboard, Stripe billing, and optional monetization features.
- What kinds of marketplaces can I build?
Three core types, configurable per tenant:
- Buy/sell - products, classifieds, collectibles
- Services - bookings, appointments, consultations
- Rental - hourly, daily, or longer-term asset rentals
You can customize each to match your niche.
- Do I need a credit card to start?
Yes - Stripe collects a card on the first payment so renewals can process automatically. You can cancel any time from your account and we stop charging immediately.
- Is my data really mine?
Yes. Every marketplace runs on its own RavenDB database - no shared tables, no noisy neighbors. You can export every document at any time via our admin API. If you cancel, we retain your data for 30 days in case you change your mind, then permanently delete it.
- Can I use my own domain?
Custom domains are included on Build and Scale. Point a CNAME at your Appolo subdomain and we handle TLS provisioning automatically.
- What languages do you support?
Six out of the box: English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic (RTL), and Hebrew (RTL). You can override any storefront string per language via Studio → Settings → Translations.
- What's the AI Builder?
Scale's headline feature. Describe your marketplace in plain English and Claude generates themes, categories, sample products, and copy - so your storefront is never empty on day one.
- What's the credits economy?
An optional per-tenant credit system you can offer your sellers. They buy credits and spend them on product promotions, homepage spotlights, story placements, jump-to-top bumps, contact-seller unlocks, and more. You set the prices; we handle the infrastructure.
- Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Open /me → Manage subscription → Cancel. Your marketplace stays live until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then we wind it down.
- Can I upgrade or downgrade?
Yes, from the same "Manage subscription" button. Stripe prorates automatically - no manual math.
- What happens if my payment fails?
Stripe retries your card 4 times over ~15 days. During that grace window your marketplace stays online. If every retry fails, the subscription is marked canceled - your data is preserved for 30 more days before deletion, so you always have time to resume.
- Do you take a cut of my revenue?
No. Appolo charges a flat monthly or annual subscription. Your sales, your sellers' credit purchases, and every other transaction on your marketplace go to your Stripe account, not ours.
- Is Appolo GDPR-compliant?
Yes. Data is stored in the EU, we sign DPAs, our sub-processors are standard-clause compliant, and we support all GDPR data subject rights. See our Privacy Policy.
